Products

Products are the retail you sell at checkout — aftercare, merch, anything with a price that isn’t a service. Body jewelry has its own richer catalog on the Jewelry side; products cover everything else.

Settings → Retail Products → Products holds the list, grouped by category (editing takes Products → Manage — included in the Manager role). A product is:

  • Name and optional description
  • Price
  • SKU — your internal stock code
  • UPC — the barcode on the package, scannable straight into the field
  • Category — required; categories are managed inline or at Settings → Retail Products → Product Categories
  • Taxable — on by default; a taxable product is taxed by any rate covering products

Products are available at every location. Deactivate a product to pull it from the register while keeping its sales history; deleting is only possible for products that have never been sold.

The Products tab of Add Item opens on your categories — only ones with something to sell at that studio — and searches name, SKU, UPC, and category; a big catalog pages through completely. Faster: scan the barcode and the line lands on the sale.

A product line carries a seller — the person whose revenue and commission the sale counts toward. The line snapshots the product’s name and price at sale time, so later edits to the catalog never rewrite history. For a one-off price exception, discount the line.

Product sales pay commission to the seller at their product rate — set per person on their compensation, with per-studio overrides. Whether retail-only sales (no service on the cart) pay product commission is a per-studio choice. Jewelry commission is its own separate rate and never falls back to the product rate.
