Reports
Reports sit under Insights in the sidebar. There are five, each answering a different question:
- Revenue — what the studio earned for a period, split by services and products, with the money that isn’t income listed separately.
- Earnings — revenue, commissions, and tips by team member.
- Sales Tax — taxable sales and tax collected by rate and item type, with the use-tax disclosure for jewelry given with services.
- Balances — every balance the studio is holding or owes: store credit, deposits, gift cards.
- Close of Day — the end-of-shift close: cash reconcile, tenders, and services vs product sales.
Rules every report shares
Section titled “Rules every report shares”One studio at a time. A report covers the studio you’re currently working in — switch studios to run it for another location. There is no all-locations rollup.
Refunds count when they’re processed. A refund lands in the period you issued it, never back in the period of the original sale. A closed month stays closed; a month with a big refund of an earlier sale can legitimately show negative net sales.
Date presets. Revenue, Earnings, and Sales Tax open on This Month, with presets from Today through Last Month, This Quarter, This Year, and All Time, plus a custom range. Close of Day is built for closing out a shift, so its presets are day-scaled instead — it opens on Today, and it’s the one report with Yesterday (plus 7 Days and 30 Days; no month or quarter presets). Balances doesn’t take a date range at all; it shows what’s outstanding now, or as of any date you pick.
Print and export. Reports print as formatted documents with the studio’s letterhead via Print. Revenue, Sales Tax, and Balances also export CSV; Earnings and Close of Day don’t.
Which reports need the Sales feature
Section titled “Which reports need the Sales feature”Revenue, Sales Tax, and Close of Day require the Sales feature — without it there’s no register activity to report. Earnings and Balances work regardless: commissions are a property of service pricing and record whether or not you run payroll, and outstanding deposits, credit, and gift cards exist either way.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Each report has its own → View permission. Manager includes Earnings, Sales Tax, and Close of Day; Front Desk includes Close of Day; the Payroll role includes Earnings and Close of Day. Revenue Report → View and Balances → View belong to no role — they stay with the owner unless granted to someone individually. See Roles & Permissions.
