Customer signing flow
Kiosk and Web Sign use the same release-form workflow. A booking-specific link can fill in the customer, services, and provider before the form opens. The standard flow asks the customer for them.
Templates control which optional steps and fields appear. Age requirements, an existing customer record, and the selected services can also change the sequence.
Before a service appears
Section titled “Before a service appears”A service type appears during signing only when:
- It has a template mapping at the service or category level.
- At least one seated provider at the current studio has a skill that covers it.
Signing steps
Section titled “Signing steps”- Enter a birthdate. REV23 calculates the customer’s age and applies the template’s age requirements. Web Sign also performs an automated spam check.
- Find or create the customer. The customer enters their name and an email address or phone number. A matching customer verifies with a one-time code before saved details are filled in. In Kiosk, the customer can instead scan the barcode on a supported government ID to fill common identity fields.
- Select services. The customer chooses a category and one or more service types. A category or service step is skipped when there is only one choice. Booking-specific links select the booked services automatically.
- Choose whether to continue existing work. A verified returning customer with an incomplete service can add this visit as a new session on that service or start a new service. The template’s Continue Previous Service step can hide this choice. It must be hidden on every template mapped within the selected category before the prompt is skipped for that category.
- Select a provider. REV23 shows seated providers whose skills and studio assignments cover the selected service. No Preference appears when at least two providers qualify and the template does not require a named provider. The step is skipped when only one provider qualifies.
- Complete the template fields. Depending on the template, this can include a start message, profile fields, identification, customer photo, source, communication preferences, emergency and physician contacts, medical conditions, session details, and disclaimer sections. Required medical conditions must be answered again even when a returning customer’s other details are filled in.
- Collect guardian details when required. A customer who meets the template’s minimum age but not its required age must provide guardian contact information and guardian identification. Parent or guardian sections and signatures appear according to the template’s guardian settings.
- Sign each form. The customer signs when required. A minor also signs when Require Minor Signature is on. The provider signature is optional and collected later when staff review the form.
- Finish the checklist. Services that use different templates produce separate forms in one checklist. The customer completes each available form and selects Finish to submit the visit. Kiosk returns to its idle screen; Web Sign opens the configured redirect or studio URL.
Signing from a booking can happen before the customer arrives. The resulting sessions remain tied to that appointment occurrence until work starts. If the appointment is moved or its artist changes first, REV23 cancels those unstarted sessions and the customer signs again for the updated occurrence. Cancelling the appointment, marking it as a no-show, or parking it to reschedule also cancels the unstarted sessions and their pending care.
Continue existing service
Section titled “Continue existing service”Continuing an existing service adds a new session to the original service. Use it for later tattoo sittings, touch-ups, or other work that belongs to the same project. Starting a new service creates a separate project and history.
New customers and returning customers without incomplete work do not see this choice.
Returning customers
Section titled “Returning customers”After a returning customer verifies with a one-time code or Kiosk ID scan, REV23 fills in saved profile details, contacts, and medical answers. The customer can correct the details before signing. Medical conditions marked Required are not filled in and must be answered for the current visit.
