Midnight Matinee cards show how the studio uses the feature described on that page. The page’s instructions stand on their own; the card gives you a configured example to compare with your own setup.

These are the people and places you’ll see in the screenshots and examples.

Midnight Matinee Tattoo occupies a converted 1920s movie theater in Sombra Springs, Arizona, a former copper-mining town. The marquee carries the studio’s name, and a ghost light stays on over the old stage. Bats from the mine cross the marquee at dusk. The original ticket booth is still outside; inside, the former concession counter is the front desk and the candy cases display jewelry. The studio stays open past midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The team

• Victoria Vale — owns the studio. She holds consultations on Mondays, when the studio is closed for regular services, and runs payroll that day.
• Johnny Requiem — senior tattoo artist. Every project starts with an in-person consultation, where he collects the deposit.
• Ophelia Graves — tattoo artist specializing in fine-line Victorian work. She charges half-day and full-day rates; a five-hour session bills at the full-day rate.
• Chet Marsh — apprentice who handles walk-in flash. Customers choose from finished designs on the wall, so he does not take online bookings.
• Madame Minta Crowe — piercer who holds jewelry consultations in the former dressing room. She sees adults only, and her bookings require a $13 deposit.
• Sam Hain — piercer for the Kids’ Matinee. Customers can book him immediately without a deposit.
• Lorelei “Lo” Batts — piercer who works late hours. Her online bookings arrive as requests for the front desk to review.
• Vivienne LaCroix — performs permanent makeup, microblading, and removal. She sets her own prices and carries separate licenses for cosmetic work and removal.
• Gloria Usher — runs the front desk from the former concession counter. She handles booking requests and retail sales.

How the studio is set up

Midnight Matinee uses different booking, pricing, and pay settings for its artists. These pages explain the features behind the examples:

• Schedules — the studio closes for regular services on Mondays and the first Sunday of each month. Victoria still offers Monday consultations. Each artist has their own hours.
• Deposits — tattoo bookings require $50 and permanent makeup bookings require $100. Most piercing bookings require no deposit; Minta’s require $13 and are approved once paid.
• Online Booking — Sam takes bookings without review, Lo takes requests, and the tattoo artists start with consultations. Chet does not take online bookings.
• Booking Rules — Friday the 13th Flash Day blocks appointments from noon to 10 PM and offers $13 walk-in tattoos. The Midnight Spookshow starts at 10 PM, offering tattoo appointments to customers with three completed visits. Kids aged 2–15 can book piercings during the noon-to-2 PM Kids’ Matinee; Minta’s bookings are for adults only.
• Policies — studio policies cover booking, cancellation, deposits, refunds, and no-shows. Lo has her own no-show policy.
• Checkout Rules — piercing services get 15% off on Wednesdays from 2–5 PM; cash payments get a separate 5% discount.
• Jewelry — checkout charges for the piercing service and jewelry separately. The former candy cases display the studio’s jewelry.
• Tax Rates — Arizona sales tax applies to goods; services are untaxed.
• Compensation — artists have different commission rules, including Johnny’s sliding scale. Gloria earns 10% on product sales.
