Earnings

Revenue, commissions, and tips by team member, with studio totals up top: Revenue, Commission, Tips, Total Payouts, and Studio Take (revenue minus commission). Each person’s row splits Service Rev, Service Comm, Product Rev, Product Comm, Tips, and Total Payout — commission of every kind plus tips, after refund clawbacks and before deductions — with a Sales count at the end. Studios that do piercing or adornment work get a Jewelry Comm column too — jewelry revenue stays inside Product Rev with other tangible goods, and only the commission is broken out, since it’s paid at its own rate. Expanding a row splits that person’s commission and tips by payment method.

Commission only posts when a session is ended, so the report surfaces sessions that haven’t been. Anyone who can edit services can end them from right there, each backfilling to when the work started. An unended session is the usual reason “my numbers look short.”

The report shows gross income: commissions plus tips. Deductions, adjustments, and deposit-custody calculations appear on pay stubs, so Total Payout in this report does not match the pay stub. Two other differences apply:

  • The report has no payroll start date. Commissions recorded before you started running payroll appear here; stubs deliberately start fresh from your first pay period.
  • Forfeited-deposit shares get their own Deposit Forfeits column when the period has any — they count in Total Payout, but sit outside the per-payment-method split, since a forfeit has no tender behind it. The studio totals include forfeited-deposit income on the revenue side too, so an artist paid 100% of a forfeit shows a $0 studio take, not a negative one.
  • Commissions and tips date to the checkout’s completion. A tip assigned to a person after the fact dates to when it was assigned, so it can land in a later period than its sale.
  • Refund clawbacks are negative entries dated to the refund — a heavy-refund month reduces this month, not the month of the sale.
  • Commission and revenue for a cancelled session drop off the report; tips stay with whoever earned them.
  • The per-payment-method split is an estimate — commission is spread across a checkout’s tenders proportionally. Tips are exact; they’re attributed to the tender that carried them.
