License
REV23 Desktop validates its trial, subscription, or license before opening the employee login. Activation normally requires an internet connection.
REV23 Account
Section titled “REV23 Account”A REV23 Account is the online account that owns or can use the Desktop subscription or license. It is separate from the employee accounts used to log in to a studio database.
From the Activation window, click Login with REV23 Account and complete the browser sign-in. REV23 Desktop returns to the Activation window, shows the account, and activates an eligible license.
REV23 Desktop remembers the sign-in for that Windows user. Use Logout on the Activation window when the computer should no longer retain that REV23 Account.
Start a trial
Section titled “Start a trial”Use the trial section on the Activation window when the studio does not yet have a subscription or license. Enter the requested contact information and submit the trial activation.
Read-only mode
Section titled “Read-only mode”Click Use in read-only mode to open an existing database without license validation. REV23 Desktop prevents creating, changing, or deleting records while that mode is active.
Read-only mode is useful when you need historical information from an inactive installation or when the licensing service is temporarily unavailable. Printing, exporting, and navigation still depend on the employee’s roles.
Restart REV23 Desktop and activate with an eligible REV23 Account to return to normal use.
Activation problems
Section titled “Activation problems”If REV23 Account sign-in does not open, confirm that the computer can reach auth.rev23.com through its internet connection and firewall. If the account signs in but the expected license is not available, contact REV23 Support with the account email and the message shown on the Activation window.
