Studios
Studios in REV23 represent where you perform services. You can have one or more studios to separate your services by either physical or logical location.
By default you always have the studio that gets created with your subscription.
If you have additional locations you can add a new studio for each (we do not charge by studio, only users). Each studio has its own time zone setting, so if you have a studio in New York and California, you can view all times in their local time and not your device time.
In addition to physical locations, whether across the street or across the country, you can also create a studio for a logical separation. For example, if you want to run your piercing or PMU business separate from the tattoo business. In this case you have a shared customer/user list as well as all of your other customizations, however you can focus in specifically on that one business’s services and not be bogged down with data that you don’t need to see.
Studio Switching
Section titled “Studio Switching”When you have more than one studio, a studio switcher appears in the sidebar. Tap it to switch between studios. Your selection is remembered so you’ll return to the same studio next time you open the app.
All data in the app — services, release forms, reports — is filtered to the currently selected studio. Switching studios changes this context instantly.
Details
Section titled “Details”Name & Short Name
Section titled “Name & Short Name”Every studio has a name (required). You can also set an optional short name — a friendly alias like “Downtown”, “Eastside”, or a city name — which is used in places where space is tight, such as the studio switcher and navigation.
Logo & Color
Section titled “Logo & Color”Upload a logo to represent your studio visually throughout the app and on public-facing pages like Kiosk & Web Sign and Ideas. If no logo is uploaded, an auto-generated avatar using the first letter of your studio name is shown instead.
You can also assign a brand color (hex code) which tints the studio’s avatar background and provides visual distinction when switching between multiple studios.
Contact Information
Section titled “Contact Information”- Email — Studio contact email.
- Phone — Phone number, stored in international format.
- Website — Your studio’s website URL.
Locale & Time Zone
Section titled “Locale & Time Zone”- Locale — Controls how dates, times, numbers, and currency are formatted throughout the app for this studio. For example, a US studio uses month/day/year dates and dollar signs, while a German studio uses day.month.year and euro signs.
- Time Zone — All timestamps in the app are displayed in the studio’s time zone, not your device’s local time. The studios list shows a live clock for each studio so you can see the current local time at a glance.
Local Codes
Section titled “Local Codes”A free-text field for recording health department codes, business license numbers, permit numbers, or any other regulatory identifiers your studio needs to track.
Location
Section titled “Location”Set the studio’s physical address:
- Street Address
- City
- State / Province
- Postal Code
- Country
The address is displayed on the studios list and in the studio switcher for quick identification.
Social Links
Section titled “Social Links”Add social media links to your studio. These are displayed on public-facing pages — the Web Sign screen and the Ideas submission page.
Supported platforms:
- X
- YouTube
- TikTok
- Website
Toggle a platform on, enter the URL, and it’s live. You can add as many or as few as you like.
QR Codes
Section titled “QR Codes”Each studio can generate two QR codes:
- Sign In — Links to the Web Sign page for this studio, where customers can fill out release forms from their own device.
- Share an Idea — Links to the Ideas submission page for this studio.
Print these or display them in your studio for customers to scan.
Adding a Studio
Section titled “Adding a Studio”To add a new studio, go to Settings > Studios and tap Add Studio. Give it a name, set its time zone and locale, and fill in the address and contact information. The new studio is available immediately — no restart or additional subscription required. REV23 does not charge per studio, only per seat.
Once you have more than one studio, the studio switcher appears in the sidebar. Tap it to switch between studios. All data — services, release forms, analytics — is filtered to the currently selected studio.
User Access
Section titled “User Access”By default, all users have access to all studios. If you need to restrict a user to specific studios, you can do so from the user’s settings page on the Studios tab. See Users for more information.
What’s Shared vs. Studio-Specific
Section titled “What’s Shared vs. Studio-Specific”Most data in REV23 is shared across your entire Cloud Studio (tenant). A few things are tied to a specific studio:
| Data | Studio-Specific? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Services & Sessions | Yes | Always belong to a studio. |
| Ideas | Yes | Always belong to a studio. |
| User Studio Assignments | Optional | Users with no studio assignments appear at all studios. Assign studios to restrict them to specific locations. |
| Service Type Studio Assignments | Optional | Service types with no studio assignments are available at all studios. Assign studios to restrict them to specific locations. |
| Template Mappings | Optional | Can be set per studio to override the tenant-wide default. |
| Everything else | Shared | Customers, templates, flags, medical conditions, sources, service types, users, settings, and supply catalogs are shared across all studios. |
When you switch studios, services, sessions, ideas, and analytics are filtered to that studio. Shared data like customers and templates is always available regardless of which studio is selected.
Security
Section titled “Security”The permissions for creating, editing, and deleting studios are controlled by the Studio permission set. See Permissions for details.
