Templates
Templates define what your release forms contain — the disclaimers customers read, the questions they answer, and the signatures they provide. A template is made up of sections (groups of related content) and blocks (individual paragraphs, checkboxes, questions, etc.).
Depending on your needs, a template can be as simple as a single disclaimer with a signature, or as detailed as a multi-section questionnaire. You can create different templates for tattoo, piercing, and other service categories, each with their own age requirements and guardian flows.
Key Concepts
Section titled “Key Concepts”- Steps — The pages a customer moves through during signing (profile, ID scan, medical conditions, disclaimers, signatures, etc.). Steps are predefined by REV23, but you control which are visible and required.
- Fields — Individual inputs within a step (e.g. ID Number, Expiration Date, Address).
- Sections — Groups of related content you define — like “Disclaimers” or “Photo Consent.”
- Blocks — The individual items inside a section — a paragraph to read, a checkbox to agree to, a yes/no question, a photo upload, etc.
- Messages — Welcome and finish screens shown during signing but not printed on the form.
For the full reference on building and editing templates, see the Template Designer.
Mappings
Section titled “Mappings”You can have separate templates for each service category type (Tattoo, Piercing, Microblading, PMU, Removal). When you create a template, map it to the appropriate category so the app uses it during signing. You can also create overrides for specific service types or studios.
