My Ink

My Ink is a personal ink and pigment collection for each user. It tracks the specific bottles in your station — including lot numbers, batch numbers, expiration dates, and post-opening durability — so you always have accurate supply information ready when you start a session.

This is separate from the shared ink catalog in your studio’s settings. The catalog defines which products exist (brand, color, name). My Ink tracks the individual bottles you own from that catalog.

Many health departments now require lot numbers and expiration dates on release forms. The EU REACH regulation goes further, requiring detailed traceability of ink products. By maintaining your My Ink collection, you can:

  • Quickly add ink to sessions with lot and batch numbers pre-filled.
  • Monitor expiration dates so you never use expired ink.
  • Keep a record of every bottle for compliance and traceability.

To add a bottle to your collection, tap Add Ink on the My Ink page. The process has two steps:

Search or browse the ink catalog to find the ink you want to add. You can filter by manufacturer or color to narrow the results.

If the ink is not in the catalog, you can create a new entry by typing its name and selecting Create. You will be prompted for the manufacturer and color.

Once you have selected an ink, enter the details for your specific bottle:

FieldDescription
Lot NumberThe lot number printed on the bottle.
Batch NumberThe batch number, if separate from the lot.
Expiration DateThe printed expiration date on the bottle.
Opened DateThe date you opened the bottle. Defaults to today.
Durability (months)How many months the ink is usable after opening (post-opening durability / PAO).

All fields are optional, but entering at least the lot number and expiration date is recommended for compliance.

My Ink tracks two types of expiration:

  • Printed expiration — The expiration date on the bottle.
  • Post-opening expiration — Calculated from the opened date plus the durability in months.

A bottle is considered expired when either date has passed. The effective expiration is whichever comes first.

Bottles are flagged with a status:

StatusMeaning
Expiring SoonThe bottle expires within 30 days.
ExpiredThe bottle is past its printed expiration or post-opening expiration.

Expired and expiring bottles are visually highlighted so they are easy to spot.

The My Ink page includes several ways to find what you need:

  • Search — Search by ink name, color, manufacturer, or lot number.
  • Status filter — Show all bottles, only expiring soon, or only expired.
  • Manufacturer filter — Show only bottles from a specific manufacturer.
  • Color filter — Show only bottles of a specific base color.

You can edit any bottle to update its lot number, batch number, dates, or durability. This is useful when you re-check a label or realize a date was entered incorrectly.

To remove a bottle from your collection — for example, when you have used it up or it has expired — delete it from the list.

When you add ink to a service session, My Ink makes the process faster:

  • Suggestions — Your most frequently used inks are suggested first for quick selection.
  • Pre-fill — If you select an ink that is in your My Ink collection, the lot number, batch number, and expiration date are automatically filled in from your bottle record.
  • Expiration warnings — If the selected bottle is expired or expiring soon, you are warned before adding it.

You can also add new bottles to your My Ink collection directly from the session supply flow.
