Getting Started
Get up and running with REV23 — from creating your account to completing your first signed release form.
Creating Your Account
Section titled “Creating Your Account”-
Go to cloud.rev23.com and create your REV23 Account.
-
Pick your Cloud Studio name. This becomes your studio’s web address (e.g.
scrantontattoo.rev23.com) and is how you and your staff access your studio. Choose something short and recognizable — your business name, abbreviation, or your own name. Your Instagram handle is usually a good bet. -
The setup wizard walks you through a few quick steps:
- Solo or Studio — Are you an individual artist or running a shop with multiple staff?
- Services — Select the service categories you offer (Tattoo, Piercing, Microblading, etc.).
- Studio info — Your studio name, address, phone, logo, timezone, and locale.
- Your role (Studio only) — Whether you personally perform services or just manage the business.
- Sample data — Optionally pre-load default service types, templates, and settings to get started faster. Recommended for most studios.
-
If you chose Studio, you are prompted to add your team members — their name, email, and which services they perform.
After setup, you land on the dashboard with a Getting Started checklist that guides you through the remaining configuration.
Initial Setup
Section titled “Initial Setup”Your Cloud Studio comes with sensible defaults — pre-loaded service types and a working release form template. You will likely want to personalize things for your studio.
Service Types
Section titled “Service Types”Check the Service Types list and make sure it represents your studio. If you loaded sample data, REV23 comes with common service types pre-loaded for your selected categories. Add or remove service types as needed — for example, if your studio does not perform certain piercings, remove them so they do not appear during signing.
Create user accounts for your artists, piercers, and anyone else who needs access.
If they are a service provider, assign them a seat and add service type licenses so the app knows which procedures they perform and they show up in the Kiosk provider list.
Templates
Section titled “Templates”Review the default release form template and decide if it works for your studio. You may want to modify the disclaimers, add medical questions, or adjust the age requirements.
If you create a new template, map it to the proper service categories so the app uses it during signing.
Your first release form
Section titled “Your first release form”REV23 provides two ways for customers to sign forms: Kiosk on the iPad and Web Sign from any browser. Both use the same templates and flow. See Kiosk & Web Sign for details on each option.
-
From the iOS app, tap the main menu ≡ and select Kiosk. Hand the device to your customer — they will fill out and sign the release form. Alternatively, share your studio’s Web Sign link so customers can complete the form from their own device.
-
When the customer finishes signing, the form is not finalized yet. This is by design — REV23 gives you a chance to fill in the details of the work before the final document is generated.
-
Exit Kiosk and return to the main app. The customer appears in the Waiting Room on the Dashboard. Tap their name to open their service, then select the session to fill in the details.
-
Fill in the session details — placement, description, price, and any supplies used (ink, needles, jewelry, etc.).
-
Tap Start Session and set the start time.
-
When the work is done, tap End Session and set the end time. This generates the final PDF of the signed release form. Once ended, the session is locked to ensure the document matches your records.
If a customer email was provided, a link to the PDF is sent to them automatically.
Congratulations! You have completed your first release form in REV23. There is plenty more you can do — attach photos, add notes, track supplies, and review the Safety Panel for flags and medical conditions. Explore the rest of the user guide for details.
